Cet article aborde la signification de l’Europe dans la transition démocratique de l’Espagne, ainsi que le rôle de la Communauté économique européenne en tant que promotrice des changements politiques.
On analyse les intérêts et enjeux présents aux négociations d’adhésion de l’Espagne à la CEE pour les différents États membres dans le contexte des débats sur l’approfondissement de l’intégration européenne aux années 1980.
Finalement, on propose quelques réflexions sur l’européisation de la politique extérieure espagnole au sein de la CEE/UE depuis 1986.
The article brings forward the meaning of Europe for the Spanish democratic transition and the role of the European Economic Community at the promotion of political changes in the country.
The different challenges and national stakes at the negotiations for the adhesion of Spain to the EEC are analysed in a context of debates about the deepening of European integration in the 1980s.
Lastly, we propose some reflections on the Europeanisation of the Spanish foreign policy within the EEC/EU after 1986.
