LA FRANCE, LA TCHÉCOSLOVAQUIE
ET LE PALAIS BUQUOY.
ENJEUX ET MODALITÉS DE L’INSTALLATION
DE L’AMBASSADE FRANÇAISE À PRAGUE
APRÈS LA PREMIÈRE GUERRE MONDIALE
(1918-1930)
Since 1919 the Buquoy palace is the French embassy in Prague, capital of the young Czechoslovakia.
The choice of this town house, built in the XVIIIth century and located near others embassies and the Castle, was suitable for the image that the French power wanted to have in Prague.
But the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which tried to reduce the price during eleven years, had finally to pay at its real cost the palace, one of the most beautiful French embassies in the world.
